Korean semiconductor design house ADTechnology announced on August 5 that it has signed a partnership with Germany-based fabless semiconductor company Ubitiem to jointly develop the UB410 universal microprocessor.

The UB410 is a next-generation universal processor that aims to replace traditional CPUs and other processors with an integrated computing architecture. It consolidates workloads that previously required multiple specialized processors into a single flexible processor, supporting AI, signal processing, and general-purpose computing on one platform.

Under the agreement, ADTechnology will serve as the core design partner, responsible for backend design and coordinating the advanced FinFET manufacturing process of Samsung Foundry. A prototype tape-out is planned for the second half of 2025, with mass production targeted for 2026.

Park Jun-gyu, CEO of ADTechnology, stated:

“We’re delighted to join Ubitiem’s groundbreaking processor project. As Korea’s largest design house, we will leverage our SoC implementation expertise to ensure seamless progression from RTL to manufacturing.”

Song Tae-jung, Executive Director of Samsung Electronics’ Foundry Business, added:

“We’re pleased that innovative companies like Ubitiem can utilize Samsung Foundry’s competitive FinFET technology through reliable partners like ADTechnology. We look forward to supporting the development of next-generation on-device AI processors.”

As computing shifts towards the edge, the UB410 offers the performance, flexibility, and simplicity required to power next-gen intelligent devices such as robots, autonomous systems, factory automation, audio equipment, and smart home appliances.
